Ed’s Daily rethinks corporate catering

Who says there’s no such thing as a free lunch?

Brett Turner wants to redefine the corporate catering business. With an extensive background in the restaurant industry, Turner and his partners at Ed’s Daily want to shake up the image of the generic boardroom lunch fare.

For the past eight months, its catering team has been putting together a menu they are banking on: healthy, delicious corporate lunches.

“We come from a restaurant background so our catering approach is a little different,” says Turner, co-owner and culinary director of Ed’s Daily. “When required, we actually go onsite and build a mobile kitchen so food is served as fresh as possible, and served restaurant-style.”

Whether it’s ordered for a meeting, or for a team that’s working through lunch, Ed’s Daily’s phone or web-based catering concierge service offers on time delivery of fare that is fresh and of the highest quality, while the vegetarian or gluten-free employee in the group is also accounted for.

Gone are the days of egg sandwiches. Ed’s Daily features 12 different bowls, like cauliflower tahini or taco salad bowl, as well as sandwiches such as pineapple beef or tomato manchego.

Equally important to Turner is that they source food from green producers and suppliers. Ed’s Daily supports local farmers and suppliers with people-, animal- and planet-friendly practices. The entrees feature antibiotic-free meat and poultry, Ocean Wise seafood, and organic and non-GMO ingredients whenever possible.

In an effort to reduce its carbon imprint, Ed’s Daily’s packaging is made out of 100 per cent recycled, plant-based paper.

So confident is Ed’s Daily about their catering menu that the chefs have put together a free sample pack featuring a few of its signature bowls and sandwiches. To book your company’s free sample, call 604-424-8788 or email janine@droskiturner.com.
