David Suzuki Foundation CEO Dr. Peter Robinson will challenge audiences to rethink how they approach leadership and collaboration at the Vancouver Real Estate Strategy & Leasing Conference

The last decade has seen industries enter a period of increasingly rapid change.

Globalization and the lightning speed of technology has redefined today’s business environment. Leaders who stay ahead of the swift pace of change and anticipate generational needs will likely be more successful.

That is according to Dr. Peter Robinson, CEO of the David Suzuki Foundation and keynote speaker at the fifth annual Vancouver Real Estate Strategy & Leasing Conference taking place November 1.

“Adaptive leadership addresses a very active form of leadership,” he says. “Leaders must be aware of the changes going on around them in order to be effective.”

Robinson speaks from experience. He has spent more than four decades in leadership roles—both in the private and public sectors—including non-profit organizations.

“Today’s leaders need to conform to the changing norms and expectations,” explains Robinson.

In order to mobilize the power of their people, leaders must also be committed to building a supportive culture and effective organizational structures.

“Collaborative leadership is when employees feel fully engaged,” explains Dr. Robinson. “There is a correlation between a greater degree of involvement and a person’s ability to perform and be more productive.”

Additionally, one of the top indicators of success is a leader who possesses a deep sense of their own value system.

“Values play an important role in our lives. Being able to recognize, understand and articulate one’s own value system is critical in sound decision-making,” he stresses.

During his keynote speech, Robinson will challenge the audience to rethink how they approach leadership and collaboration.

The fifth Annual Vancouver Real Estate Strategy & Leasing Conference takes place Tuesday, November 1 at the Vancouver Convention Centre East. For more information or to register, click here; or call Gillian Wright at 604.739.2112 ext. 62058 or email: gillian.wright@informa.com.
