For the past three decades, Concord Pacific Developments Inc. has been synonymous with designing master planned communities that people want to live in. As Canada’s largest community builder, the multi award-winning developer has built many of B.C.’s iconic high-rise towers.

Founded back in 1987 to develop the Expo ’86 Lands, the visionary company has since completed more than 100 residential and mixed use buildings, with more than 50 in various stages of planning and development.

Today, its portfolio of residential and mixed use masterplan communities can be found in major cities across the Lower Mainland, as well as in Calgary, Toronto and more recently Britain, with the 50-storey Principal Tower in the heart of London – its first joint venture outside of Canada.

“Concord Pacific chose Calgary, Toronto and B.C. because they are the most livable cities in Canada, as well as touted as some of the top cities in the world,” says Grant Murray, senior vice president of sales.

Over the years, the renowned developer has also made its mark in green innovation.

“We were the first builder ever to employ 20 per cent of our parking stalls in a Vancouver project to EV (electric vehicle) charging stations,” notes Murray.

Concord Pacific has taken that commitment even further with a 100 per cent EV compatible charging stations in 100 per cent of its high rises now in development across the province.

The company’s commitment to green initiates don’t end there. In 2012, Concord expanded into the wind and solar energy, as well as hydroelectric power generation projects with its venture, Concord Green Energy.

“We are producing clean, renewable energy that creates twice the power of regular energy … we harness that power to support our sustainable communities now and in the future,” he explains. “We see ourselves as green developers, so investing in renewable energy fits well with what we do.”

Over the past quarter century, the company has also branched out with its nationwide Prompton Real Estate Services, a branch of the company focused on resale projects for both local and international clients.

“We train our sales team by licensing them through Prompton, however they work exclusively for Concord,” explains Murray.

It’s group of companies also consists of Concord’s Maximizer Software, a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and Novus Entertainment Inc., ranked as one of Canada’s most successful independent cable television, Internet and digital phone companies, which has an ownership stake in Wind Mobile.

Besides its stake in several ventures, Concord is a company with a big heart.  The corporation is a major sponsor of celebrated events such as the Honda Celebration of Light, Vancouver Dragon Boat Festival and Surrey’s Party for the Planet, and charities like CIBC Run for the Cure and BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, to name a few benevolent endeavours.
