Experience the Good Life at 8X ON THE PARK

Yaletown’s newest development offers a fresh take on downtown living

It’s not often that a truly distinct tower is built in downtown Vancouver. 8X ON THE PARK in Yaletown is proving that innovation is the key to creating livable homes. Using thoughtful planning that makes everyday tasks easy, 8X is big on the little things that matter.

When it’s time to sleep, roller shades soften the city light: the master bedrooms come equipped with blackout shades that are wired to be motorized, for the ultimate in convenience. And if the temperature isn’t right, a thermostat controlled by a smartphone can adjust them to perfection.

When it’s time to make dinner, the Italian Binova cabinets, quartz countertops and marble stone slab backsplashes, and Miele appliances create an atmosphere fit for chefs. Interior shelving swings out into the kitchen area, so pots and pans are never lost in the back of cabinets. Pantries have backlit lighting when the door is opened and in the larger suites, they extend for easier access. And for those who like to keep their kitchen organized, cabinets are fitted with recycling bins and the drawers come with built-in stainless steel cutlery holders.

A key feature in the kitchen is the under mount LED lighting. “It’s strip LED, so you get a consistent light all the way across the countertop,” explains Tracie McTavish, the executive director of Rennie. “And it’s motion-sensored. So if your hands are greasy or full of flour, you can just wave them underneath the censor and the lights go on or off.”

The bathrooms are just as detail-oriented. 8X features wall-hung TOTO toilets that float off the ground, and the tanks are concealed behind a wall, leaving room for a waterproof niche beside the bathtub that is perfect for storing bathing accessories. To tie the kitchen and bathroom together, the cabinetry is made by the same Italian company, and also features underlighting.

Outside of the suites, the common areas of the building reflect the same refined elegance. Half of the penthouse floor is open to residents as a social area, both inside and out. There is the SkyLounge, entertainment centre and lounge area, as well as the SkyFitness Centre with the best equipment for workouts. Outside, a 3,800 square foot deck overlooks English Bay and the rest of the downtown core, complete with a BBQ, fire pits and soft seating.

Looking down from the terrace, residents will see Emery Barnes Park, which has water features and green space for people of all ages. The building’s pet washing station will be helpful after playing in the off-leash dog area of the park and cyclists returning home can enter through the separate bike entrance. They can also use the exclusive elevator to take them down to the bike storage room. If there are any problems along the way, residents can always inquire with the concierge in the lobby, on duty 24/7.
8X ON THE PARK will change how you view downtown living.
