Two local tech companies, once conjoined, have merged once again

Invoke Labs and Invoke Media are combining forces to provide a range of clients, from startups to established companies, with expertise on all stages of development.

Spun off in 2012 from Invoke Media, whose client roster includes the NHL, Westbank and Modo, Invoke Labs was created to give startups a “one-stop shop for talent and expertise,” said David Tedman, CEO of Invoke Labs and co-founder of Invoke Media, in a press release.

Developing both company-created ideas as well as partnering with outside entrepreneurs, Invoke Labs provided expertise to startups on everything from design and marketing to fundraising and product strategy.

In the press release, Chris Miller, managing director of Invoke Media, said that increased collaboration between the two companies meant that a merger made sense since “the only thing still standing between us was a hallway.”

Miller, who will lead the new company, thinks that the reciprocity between startups and established brands means that “both will thrive.”

The company’s headquarters will remain in Gastown.
