Tacit Management Consulting

Tacit is a Vancouver-based consulting firm that helps its clients make smart technology investments to ensure successful project outcomes

Neal Chaudhary and James McGregor founded Tacit in 2012 after they became tired of seeing perfectly good projects go wrong, particularly when it came to software selection and implementation—there had to be a better way.

James and Neal launched Tacit with a focus on software selection, providing a vendor agnostic resource for growing companies who were looking to implement enterprise technology.

Tacit started off working with Herschel Supply Co., which at the time consisted of 10 employees but was growing rapidly. In fact, things were happening so quickly that it soon realized its systems were not prepared to handle the growth. Tacit helped with the selection and implementation of the enterprise software that Herschel required in order to continue expanding, securing the financial and inventory systems, an e-commerce store, B2B portal and EDI capabilities with large retailers. Herschel now has upward of 200 employees.

Tacit continued to work with high-growth organizations when Avigilon selected Tacit as a strategic partner in critical enterprise technology projects. Tacit aided in the selection of their ERP and HRIS systems, setting them up to become the half-a-billion-dollar (revenue) company that they are today. Over the years, Tacit’s clientele has grown to include Kit & Ace, Purdys, DWave, Saje, Whistler Blackcomb and BCAA, with experience working in the manufacturing, education, and mining sectors amongst many others.

Along with the growth experienced by Tacit’s clients over the past four years, Chaudhary, McGregor and their big idea also grew to become a consulting firm with close to 80 clients and a team of 14 technology and business professionals, all of whom share a passion for successful technology projects.

Today, Tacit’s service offerings include IT strategy, software selection and project success (which consists of project management, change management and data management). Tacit’s purpose is to provide clients with the tacit knowledge required to make the best decisions about their technology and executing these decisions successfully.

To keep up with its own growth, the company has recently launched their new website, which explains their service offerings in greater detail: www.tacitconsult.com.
