With a fresh lineup and new partnership with BCBusiness, this year’s GROW Conference (running Aug. 14-16) is better than ever

The fourth annual GROW Conference, B.C.’s preeminent spot to pitch can’t-fail start-ups to Silicon Valley investors and hear the latest insight on disruptive technologies the mainstream isn’t talking about yet, has announced its lineup for the Aug. 14-16 event yesterday.

Slightly rebranded this year as “The Future of Business: The Intersection of Design and Entrepreneurial Thinking,” the expanded lineup features two tracks this year to ensure the right mix of tech innovation along with business development. In its previous three years, the event has become famous for bringing some of Silicon Valley’s biggest names to Vancouver and this year is no different. From Don Mattrick, the embattled CEO of Zynga to homegrown wunderkind Will Young, Director of Zappos Labs talking with Fast Company magazine about the need for big business to let employees run free as “intrapreneurs,” the event went for much more variety and scope this year.

The post-session, evening activities are also getting an upgrade. Modeled on the way that South by Southwest takes over Austin, Texas, GROW organizers are partnering with Gastown bars and restaurants for a series of Happy Hours and VIP, invite-only dinners.
