Endurance has opened a new manufacturing facility a stone’s throw from the border

Wind turbine manufacturer Endurance Wind Power opened a 40,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in South Surrey on Thursday. The company, which has installed 750 wind turbines around the world to date, moved into the plant last month.

Endurance, which designs, assembles and exports wind turbines (the company does not currently have any wind turbines installed in B.C.) will operate its head offices—and a relatively small shop floor—out of the new factory in Surrey.

On Thursday, the company toured reporters and a handful of local politicians, including Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts, around the facility, which manufactures small wind turbines that can power dairy farms or small installations.

In an interview with BCBusiness last year, Endurance CEO Glenn Johnson said his company had annual revenue between $50 million and $100 million, and was exporting to Japan, Spain, Italy and Australia.

A 15-minute drive north of the Pacific Truck Crossing in South Surrey, the plant is Endurance’s second facility in the city.
