TuGo has a rich history in insurance innovation. Founded by Herb and Georgina Robinson in 1964, it was the first Canadian company to launch missed flight insurance. The following decade, it introduced another innovation, annual excess emergency hospital/medical insurance. By the early 1990s, TuGo was offering its product to the public through insurance brokers across the country. Online sales soon followed.

Today, TuGo is one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies and has a national presence; it’s headquarted in Richmond, with satellite offices in Vernon, Edmonton, Mississauga and Montreal. The company has grown from a staff of two to a team of over 175.
