Scotiabank Feast of Fortune
Westin Bayshore Hotel
February 16, 2013
The annual Scotiabank Feast of Fortune gala celebrates the Chinese New Year with fine dining, live and silent auctions, entertainment and opportunities for donors to pledge individual gifts through a special "Save A Life" segment of the evening's program. The event far surpassed its $380,000 fundraising goal, collecting more than $520,000 to support the purchase of a 3D ultrasound breast scanner for the Mount Saint Joseph Hospital Rapid Access Breast Clinic.
Over the past five years this event has raised more than $1.3 million for priority equipment needs at MSJ. The sold-out event drew 700 guests, including senior government representatives, business and community leaders, medical professionals and generous donors of Mount Saint Joseph Hospital.
The Tapestry Foundation for Health Care presented the event and also raises funds for eight hospitals and residences in Metro Vancouver operated by Providence Health Care. Mount Saint Joseph Hospital is a vital, full-service community hospital on Vancouver's east side with 208 acute and residential care beds. Donations support purchases of medical equipment, funding to support quality of life programs for the elderly, education programs and geriatric research projects.
