Vancouver Board of Trade Governors’ Banquet and Rix Center Awards
Vancouver Convention Centre
April 24, 2014

The Vancouver Board of Trade Governors’ Banquet and Rix Center Awards was marked with a gala dinner and silent auction with almost 800 in attendance. This year honouree Ken Martin celebrated his investiture into the Council of Governors; David McLean was presented with the Engaged Community Citizenship Award; and Port Metro Vancouver was presented with the Engaged Corporate Citizenship Award.

The emcee for the evening was Jill Krop from Global TV and entertainment was provided by the UBC School of Music Brass Ensemble and the UBC Thunderbird Men’s Basketball Team.  Proceeds from the evening will be used to fund young business leader develpment, advocacy and member programming.
For 127 years, The Vancouver Board of Trade has worked on behalf of Metro Vancouver’s business community to promote prosperity through commerce, trade and free enterprise. The Rix Center is a special initiative of The Vancouver Board of Trade, founded by the late Dr. Don Rix and chaired by David McLean. Each year the Rix Center presents two prestigious awards at the Governors’ Banquet—the Rix Award for Engaged Corporate Citizenship and the Rix Award for Engaged Community Citizenship.
