The new flagship store is also home to the Herschel Supply Book Fair, a "curated reading area"
Remember the boring old days, when a store was just a store? Now there‘s rarely a retail opening that doesn‘t involve some other interesting angle, whether that‘s a workshop space, an art exhibition area or, in Vancouver-based Herschel Supply Co.‘s case, a book fair.
Herschel‘s new 2,800-square-foot flagship store at 1080 Robson Street carries all the city-ready essentials the brand is known for: modern backpacks, closet basics and tech accessories. Then there‘s the Herschel Supply Book Fair, billed as “a curated reading area with books and magazines centred around art, architecture, photography/graphics, music/film, travel and leisure.” Herschel, if you‘re reading this, we have a magazine to suggest.
In a release, the company called the new store a community hub, promising “artist-in-residence programs, workshops, speaker series and community events.” The Robson location is the fourth in North America. It‘s a pretty cool-looking space, too: see for yourself.
