Province is positioned to lead Canada’s next chapter of economic growth and global competitiveness, says BC Tech Association

On May 24, 2017, the federal government announced funds of up to $950 million to encourage “innovation clusters”: industry-led consortiums that will pull together large firms, innovative SMEs, industry-relevant academic and research institutions, and other innovation partners eager to work together to accelerate economic growth. On July 21, the BC Tech Association released a report showing how B.C. is positioned to lead Canada as a global digital technology supercluster.  The province has:

• The fastest-growing technology sector in Canada

• A long history of pioneering technological innovation

• Global companies that are increasingly attracted to BC
