Kah-Mei Smith named one of four winners by national organization Mompreneurs

Port Coquitlam native Kah-Mei Smith is one of this year’s recipients of a Mompreneur award, a prize given to Canadian mothers in business.

Smith works an independent distributor of Young Living, which produces essential oils. Through her site The Daily Oilers, Smith and her team of 15 sell Young Living products to customers, helping the company educate potential buyers on the benefits of essential oils.

“Our biggest focus is to educate families on the potential toxins found in their everyday products and cleaners and showing them a healthy alternative,” Smith said in a statement.

Mompreneur has been giving out awards to mothers in business for six years. This time around, it whittled the list of 23 finalists down to four winners in different categories.

The big winners were Adriana De Luca and Michelle Lalonde of Tiber River Naturals, who received the Award of Excellence and a prize of cash and services valued at more than $30,000.

Kate Belbeck of Belbeck’s Family Farm (Momentum Award), Nanashake’s Tamara Aldip (Startup Award) and Smith (Award of Merit) each took home more than $5,000 in cash and services.
