Intengine for Change Foundation holds first annual educational congress and gala

Intengine, the global database for sustainability and “The Engine for Good” is planning its big launch party in Vancouver June 8 and 9 with a two-day educational congress and celebratory gala at the Fairmont Pacific Rim.

Speakers from across key industries, from finance to clothing to transportation, will come together to discuss some of the largest challenges and opportunities facing our future. By broadening the perspective of sustainability and fostering well-rounded discussions, the first annual Sustainability Leadership Congress will bring awareness to hundreds of the best and brightest young leaders and facilitate learning from the top corporate, academic and government experts.

This year’s congress speakers include Bea Johnson, dubbed the mother of the Zero Waste Movement and author of The Zero Waste Home; Intengine founder Connie Linder; Vanadis Oviedo, sustainability specialist at MEC; Minto Roy, co-founder of Social Print Paper and forest-free Sugar Sheet and Wheat Sheet paper brands; and many more.

The Intengine for Change Gala, rounding out the first day of the congress on the evening of June 8, will raise funds for sustainability education through an evening of food and entertainment featuring New York standup comedian Robyn Schall as MC and the vocal stylings of Gennady Tkachenko-Papizh, musician, sound imitator and actor.

Intengine is a global database comprising businesses and organizations who have made a commitment to put sustainability first. The company was just named Most Outstanding Platform for Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Businesses in Acquisition INTL magazine’s 2019 Global Excellence Awards. The company’s extensive database of social and environmental certifications gives consumers a more balanced story so they can understand not just who claims to offer sustainable products and services, but what these companies are actually doing to make a difference.

Intengine, formerly known as Green Pages Directory, was founded by sustainability leader Connie Linder as a pro-business and pro-solutions platform to support the marketplace in making changes. Linder knew that if we were to make a real sustainable shift, it would have to be driven largely by business.

As one of the first start-up partnerships of its kind, Intengine is collaborating with PricewaterhouseCoopers to bring self-assessment tools to our members that help strengthen and measure their sustainability performance.

The funds raised at the Intengine for Change Gala will go toward the Intengine Global Change Foundation whose goal is to facilitate the transition to a more sustainable economy through the advancement of knowledge and awareness that aids in the generation of policies, practices and their implementation.

Tickets for the congress are only $100 until April 30, and all students who purchase a ticket before that date are eligible to apply for one of the available scholarships of up to $5,000. Winners will be announced at the gala. After April 30, congress tickets are $250. Gala tickets are $250 per seat and $2,300 for a table.
