Since 2000, the non-profit Vancouver Writers Fest has hosted this annual whisky tasting with funds going to the VWF’s youth education outreach programs. Enjoy unlimited drams of whisky from distilleries around the world, including Scotland, Canada and Japan, as well as American craft bourbon; there’s local craft spirits and beer too. Find live music, bites from local restaurants and an auction for experiences like a private whisky tasting for two at the new Parq Vancouver.
Meet the whisky brand ambassadors, separate the wheat from the chaff (or whisky from whiskey), try something new like craft bourbon. A limited number of VIP tickets will also be released which grants early access to rare, one-off whiskies that won’t be available during the main format. A handful of whisky master classes (Women & Whisky, B.C. whiskies, etc.) will also be on offer for a fee at various pop-up venues on Granville Island before the event starts.
And the kicker? Because the Writers Fest is a registered, non-profit charity, all ticket holders receive a tax receipt for 75 percent of their ticket value (with a $100 ticket, you’ll get a tax receipt in the amount of $75).
General admission: $100
