Jacqui Cohen and Kasondra Cohen-Herrendorf raise almost $1 million for local charities at inaugural gala

The 300 well-dressed guests and business leaders who turned out for the inaugural Face the World Today Gala raised $925,000 for local charities. Local philanthropist Jacqui Cohen, Army & Navy president and Face the World founder, joined forces with her daughter, Kasondra Cohen-Herrendorf, Face of Today founder, for their first joint gala, held at the Cohen family home on May 13.

Mike Killeen, CTV News at 6 anchor, was the gala emcee, and Hawksworth Restaurant, under the direction of chef David Hawksworth, presented the evening’s culinary experience. Barry Scott conducted the live auction and local band DiRTY RADiO had everyone dancing at the end of the night.

Over 26 years, Face the World has raised more than $17 million, which has been distributed to local charitable organizations with a focus on abused children and battered women, the hungry, the homeless and the elderly. Face of Today, founded in 2009, has raised more than one million dollars to support youth-based charities and programs throughout Vancouver.
