The BC Tech Association celebrates the winners of its Technology Impact Awards

As B.C. technology companies expand their global reach, they’re getting some recognition at home. On June 22 at the Vancouver Convention Centre, the BC Tech Association announced the winners of its 2017 Technology Impact Awards (TIAs). Among those honoured:

Most Promising Pre-Commercial Technology – ARTMS Products Inc., creator of solid target technologies for medical cyclotrons

Excellence in Product Innovation – Corvus Energy, maker of lithium ion energy storage systems, featured in our May 2017 issue

Adoption of Technology – decision analytics specialist Copperleaf Technologies Inc. (take an office tour here) and the B.C. government 

Most Promising Startup – Semios Technologies Inc., precision farming technology developer, named one of our Most Innovative Companies in B.C. for 2013

Emerging Company of the Year – global ID verification outfit Trulioo 

Company of the Year – Stemcell Technologies Inc., biotechnology products and services provider (president and CEO Allen Eaves was the 2016 Entrepreneur of the Year winner for the Pacific region)

Team of the Year – Clio, developer of cloud-based practice management software for the legal industry (CEO Jack Newton was a 2014 finalist for Entrepreneur of the Year)

Community Engagement – marketing performance management specialist Allocadia Software Inc. (read our interview with co-founder Katherine Berry)

Person of the Year – Shafin Tejani, founder, venture builder Victory Square Labs, and 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year winner

Bill Thompson Lifetime Achievement Award – Dr. Alan Winter, president, Winteck Consulting Inc.; former president and CEO, Genome British Columbia

People’s Choice Award – Traction on Demand, consulting and cloud software development firm with expertise in Salesforce.com (check out our Q&A with CEO Greg Malpass)
