Job site search Indeed’s inaugural list is based on employee reviews

Two B.C. companies have made a new ranking of the country’s top workplaces. The 25 Best Places to Work in Canada, curated by Indeed from employee reviews on the job search site, encompasses industries such as finance, telecommunications, health care and transportation. The top five names: Royal Bank of Canada, the Toronto Transit Commission, Vancouver-based Telus Corp., General Motors and the Hospital for Sick Children. Construction giant Ledcor Group, which has corporate head offices in Vancouver and San Diego, took 16th place. Telus and Ledcor ranked No. 1 and No. 16, respectively, in our latest Top 100 ranking of B.C.’s biggest companies by revenue.

Indeed features more than 600,000 company reviews by Canadian employees and some 15 million by workers worldwide. Drawing on reviews posted between June 2015 and May 2017, the site rated companies on their overall employee experience: work-life balance, pay and benefits, job security and advancement, management and culture.
