The highest- and lowest-priced homes sold in B.C.: August 11 to 17

Last week’s priciest property sold was a lakefront home in Whistler

B.C. residential real estate sales do seem to have slowed in August, but they are still happening. Of the 47 highest- and lowest-priced recorded last week, 34 were for 90-99.99 percent of asking, according to data analyzed by Vancouver-based Zolo Realty on behalf of BCBusiness. Only four sold for 100 percent or more of list price.

The most-expensive sale was in the Greater Vancouver Real Estate Board area of Whistler. Located in Emerald Estates community, the property fetched just over 104 percent of the $2.98-million list price in five days. The three-bedroom, five-bathroom house offers direct waterfront access to Green Lake with its own private dock.

Two of the remaining three properties that went for full price were in Kamloops: a townhouse in Sun Peaks and a condo in Sahali. The third was on Vancouver Island, a fractional-ownership condo at Bear Mountain Resort.

See below for details of these and other highest- and lowest-priced properties sold across the province last week.

Sales data was obtained from B.C. real estate boards by Zolo Realty on behalf of BCBusiness. The type of information from each board may vary. Because real estate records are amended and updated daily, information is always changing, and it can take three months or longer to reflect final statistics.

Zolo was launched in Vancouver in 2012 by tech entrepreneurs Riley Best, who had previously started and sold a U.K online dating site, and Jason Billingsley, who had helped found a business-to-business e-commerce operation. Looking for a new venture, the pair realized that real estate was ripe for disruption. Their primary interest was sales data, but to gain access and monetize it, they needed to be a licensed brokerage. The result was Zolo, headquartered in Vancouver, with offices in Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary and Regina.

More than six million home shoppers a month start their search on Zolo.ca, which posts real estate tips and timely statistics, too. It also helps owners sell their homes, either on their own or through an agent.
