Furnish Me initiative can spark conversation about local business

Vancouver-based Buy Rite this month has an initiative aimed at helping a local charity furnish its entire office.

The Furnish Me initiative targets a not-for-profit organization that needs furnishing for its office of about 20 staff, including chairs, desks, file cabinets and boardroom items.

In a press release, Buy Rite says it hopes to “refresh” the charity organization’s workspace.

Buy Rite founder Zane Mohammed says: “Everyone can make a difference in their own way and you don’t have to do it by giving away thousands of dollars.”

Mohammed said he aspires to “create excitement and conversation around local business that do good in the community,” and he hopes other business owners will be inspired to do the same.

Nominations for businesses, charities or non-for-profits that could use an office upgrade worth up to $10,000 are being accepted until September 30.
