BCBusiness Top 100 Luncheon
The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
June 26, 2013

More than 1000 business leaders and up-and-comers from myriad industries took the afternoon off to schmooze in the Fairmont’s opulent ballroom. Guests enjoyed a standup, networking-style luncheon, replete with free-flowing wine, a dim sum bar and a carving station. Included in the energetic crowd was Vancouver business legend Frank Giustra, the guest of honour and 2013’s keynote speaker. After getting their food and networking fill, guests moved into the main ballroom for the highlight of the afternoon: Canada Wide Media chair and CEO Peter Legge’s in-depth interview with the highly anticipated 2013 guest, Frank Giustra.

With his father, Giuseppe, and young son, Nicolai, in the audience, Giustra shared stories from his life and offered insight on being successful. Giustra is adamant on dispelling negativity in your life—especially those nagging thoughts that bubble up every now and then—and stressed the importance of believing you can do anything. Also crucial: avoid debt at all costs! Giustra says he never borrows money.

His latest passion and venture, Domenica Fiore Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, was available for sample and purchase. The olive oil has been another wild success story for Giustra—it recently won best olive oil in the world at the New York International Olive Oil competition.
