The Deighton Cup
Hastings Racetrack
July 16, 2016

This year's Deighton Cup attracted more guests than ever before in its eight-year history, with women wearing their finest fascinators and men their best silk bow ties. Kam Singh Bains, fashion stylist and personal shopper, won the Style Stakes best-dressed man award (sponsored by Gallant Sartorial), and Jesikah Post, B.C. government citizen engagement specialist, was best-dressed woman (sponsored by Belle de Jour).

The entire marquee and concourse was opened up as a VIP experience, and guests had access to the Mile’s End Motors Field of Dreams, picnic area, cigar lounge and a Veuve Clicquot champagne stage. The fourth annual rooftop cocktail mixology competition featured a unique take on bourbon and a Boothby Julep Trophy.

Named after legendary Vancouver saloon owner John "Gassy Jack" Deighton, the Deighton Cup's heart-stopping horse racing, fearless fashion and masterful mixology is co-produced by Droski/Turner and the Social Concierge. Proceeds from each ticket sold will benefit event partner Variety—The Children's Charity.
