Although 30 for 30 was promoted as a networking and fundraising event for young professionals, it was also a birthday bash for Vancouver realtor Keith Roy. To celebrate his 30th, Keith filled up the Vancouver Art Gallery with over 350 of his friends and contacts from his professional network to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. Hosted by Michael Eckford and Fiona Forbes, co-hosts of Shaw TV’s Urban Rush, the evening raised $23,000.

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that builds homes through donation of money, materials, land, and labour. Successful applicant families are able to purchase the homes at cost, with a no-interest mortgage. The organization is currently building a 27-unit townhome project in Burnaby on Government Street.
