Face the World 23rd Annual Gala
Cohen Family Home
June 8, 2013

Local philanthropist and Army & Navy president Jacqui Cohen hosted 250 of Vancouver’s and Canada’s business, community and philanthropic leaders at her home. Now in its 23rd year, the annual gala raises funds for the Face the World Foundation, which has distributed nearly $10 million to more than 130 organizations throughout the Lower Mainland.

Upon arrival at the fabulous Cohen home, guests walked the red carpet on their way to poolside cocktails and canapés in the backyard. Best-selling author Jackie Collins was there to lend support to her longtime friend Cohen, and legendary performing group The Temptations provided the feature entertainment. Fiona Forbes, host of The Rush on Shaw TV, and Howard Blank of the Great Canadian Gaming Corp. took to the stage in emcee and auctioneer roles, respectively. C Restaurant, led by Harry Kambolis, delivered a top-notch culinary experience.

“I am grateful and humbled by this extraordinary group of people who step forward so generously,” said Cohen. “Our donors, sponsors, volunteers, patrons and friends enable us to raise dollars that truly make a difference in the lives of the city’s most vulnerable.” A particular focus has been put on smaller groups that support abused women, battered children, the hungry, the homeless and the elderly.
