B.C. government invests in French education

According to the Globe and Mail, the B.C. government wants to double the amount of French teachers for the 2019-20 school year. 

That means increased funding from the government, to the tune of $265,000. 

More than 53,000 children are reportedly in French immersion programs in B.C., or about 9.5 per cent of the student population.
