One of the most important markers for success is enjoying what you do. So how do you launch a career worth loving?
A career should be about more than “work”. It should be about sharing your passion with the world. For this reason, a school needs to be more than just classrooms—it must be as three dimensional as the life it is intended to help build. It should be a place to learn the theory and the skills, a place for students to discover who they are as people, to explore their unique identities as professionals and how they fit into the ecosystem of their field. A school should be a place where students join a community and begin building their network. This is one of the most transformational seasons of life, and for learners who are exploring their creative spark, going to college should feel like coming home.
For over 65 years, LaSalle College Vancouver and its parent company, LCI Education, have been driven by a singular mission: to connect people with opportunity through high-quality education. While the world has changed dramatically since LCI’s founding in Montreal 65 years ago, its unwavering commitment to helping individuals turn their passions into meaningful careers rings truer than ever before. LCI Education runs 12 higher-education institutions across six continents. With beautiful campuses spanning from Montreal to Melbourne, Marrakech to Monterrey, Bogotá, Jakarta and more, this group of higher-education institutions has learned to embrace a global perspective on delivering a world-class student experience.
Innovation in student experience has become a key facet of LCI Education’s strategy, and this has been a particularly exciting chapter as the group doubles down on investment into transformational institutions. In mid-2024, LCI opened its new campus in Barcelona, which will serve as a European hub. The seven-story, 118,403-square-foot building in the heart of Barcelona’s most creative and technological neighbourhood, district 22@, is already landing architectural awards and making waves as it hosts key cultural events like Barcelona Design Week and attracts celebrated artists to gather, speak and inspire the next generation. Now, in 2025, LaSalle College Vancouver is on the verge of unveiling its new, state-of-the-art creative campus, a flagship for Western Canada.
The new campus in Vancouver goes beyond building physical infrastructure. This is an investment in the future of BC’s creative industries and leadership. LCI Education institutions have been built on the belief that they will train the creative directors, CEOs and founders of new innovative brands. So, how does the design of a campus help learners unlock the potential for a career worth loving?
The groundbreaking facility in Vancouver is designed to inspire creativity, foster community and set a new standard for education in the arts. When a student has the tools to discover their craft, the mentorship to succeed and an environment to truly inspire them to unleash their passions, they become free to pursue the most meaningful expression of their creativity. This purpose-built, 108,000-square-foot creative campus has been master-planned as a playground where aspiring designers, musicians, chefs, artists and filmmakers can explore all the incredible ways they can bring their ideas to life.
The Vancouver building will conform to Fitwel wellness standards and Rick Hansen accessibility standards, and it is LEED Gold certified. Eighty-five percent of the building is bathed in natural light, and it offers ample indoor-outdoor spaces for students to find inspiration or unwind. With amenities like a rooftop meditation garden where culinary students can grow their own herbs, and a showstopping suspended theatre that serves as a dynamic centrepiece floating above the main entrance, the school is a perfect destination to host events, conferences and festivals. The soundstage, impressive media studios and design ateliers will play host not only to lectures but also workshops, masterclasses and panel discussions open to the whole creative community.
“This is a place for worlds to collide and community to come together,” says Global Director of Content & Partnerships, Maximillion Semchuk. “We’re creating space for creative leaders from fashion, music and all realms of design, for Michelin star-awarded chefs, for artists and for our students, alumni and Vancouver’s passionate creative community to come together and redefine what creative education feels like.
“This is an open invitation for anyone with that creative spark to come and discover what LaSalle College Vancouver’s new campus could be for them. Whether you’re coming to study design and get your degree or dropping by at sunset to hear one of our alumni perform a rooftop DJ set, we want this to feel like your home, too.”
