B.C. companies dominate 2024 TSX Venture Exchange list of top 50 performing stocks

The list highlights the top emerging companies driving growth across sectors

Every year, the TSX-V stock exchange (a public venture capital marketplace for emerging companies) puts out a list of its top performing companies in five sectors: clean tech and life sciences, diversified industries, energy, mining and technology. This year, there seem to be two clear winners: British Columbia and the mining sector.

The latter saw average share prices among the top 10 companies (of which B.C. is home to six) go up 245 percent. In all, 23 B.C.-based firms have a presence on the list, including three at the very top of their categories—Decisive Dividend Corporation, diversified industries; Hercules Silver Corp., mining; and Hive Digital Technologies, technology.

“The Venture 50 ranking is a true indicator of investor confidence in the capabilities of Canadian companies and our public markets,” said Loui Anastasopoulos, CEO, TSX and global head, capital formation, TMX Group, in a release. “The majority of this year’s companies are based in Canada. Investors are especially drawn to Canadian companies that have international projects, reflecting the global reach of our public markets and the reputation of junior Canadian issuers from across a range of sectors and regions in providing strong returns for investors.”
