Why Mark Carney doesn’t like bitcoin

Mark Carney, former governor of the Bank of Canada and now governor of the Bank of England, says cryptocurrencies, such as bitcoin, should not be viewed as true currencies. Carney warns that they fail to store value, are difficult and expensive to use for purchases, and are no use as a unit of account—all of the usual definitions of a currency. And that’s not all: they are also being used for criminal activities.
