Eyes right – Canadian National Institute for the Blind

One in nine Canadians over the age of 65 will experience significant loss in their lifetimes. After age 80, it becomes one in four. These odds are expected to worsen, not improve, int he coming years. Approximately 60,000 people in Canada are experiencing significant vision loss, a number that is expected to increase dramatically due to our aging population (one of the most common causes of vision loss is age-related macular degeneration, or AMD).
