The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s gala chair, Carey Smith, and honorary chair, Bob Gallagher, kicked off their 2012 event with a pre-gala reception party. The gold-themed house party was hosted at the beautiful West Vancouver residence of Goldcorp CEO Ian Telfer and wife, Nancy Burke, as a way to celebrate the efforts of the foundation’s major supporters. VIP guests were invited to indulge in wine and tapas, while surrounded by the panoramic ocean views of the waterfront home.

Organized by acclaimed Vancouver event producer Shelley Johnson and catered by Crown Street, the reception was an elegant kick-off to the already sold-out gala event on June 1. Taking place, once again, at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, it will bring together 500 people to raise funds for the treatment and prevention of heart disease and stroke. Last year’s Italian-garden-themed gala raised a reported $850,000.
