A specialty engineering firm, Levelton Consultants Ltd. has cultivated world-class expertise in four core disciplines: Building Science, Geotechnical, Environment and Materials engineering. This expertise comes through on many of B.C. and Alberta’s most challenging construction and remediation projects, including such high-profile undertakings as the Golden Ears Bridge, the Sea-to-Sky Highway, the Critical Care Tower at Surrey Memorial Hospital and YVR airport. As a result, Levelton has carved out a niche role for itself in the industry, and earned a reputation for being able to tackle the projects that other engineering firms can’t. While the Company has fostered strong working relationships with its many public- and private-sector clients, Levelton also works extensively with other engineering firms. “We’re often contracted by other consultants to work on difficult projects,” explains Levelton president Nick Davis, P.Eng. “We have in-house professionals that focus solely on certain specialized services.” Although specialized, the services Levelton provides are wide-ranging. The Building Science Group offers an entire spectrum of services, from energy modelling to all kinds of testing and assessments, including the team’s core strength of envelope remediation. The Geotechnical Division helps clients select or assess potential building sites, identify and mitigate potential natural hazards and treat challenging sites to make them safe for development. The Environment Division works to assess and manage environmental impacts, from air quality to soils to groundwater contamination. The Materials Group has an international reputation for quality assurance and as material specifiers, and helps make sure the materials used to build infrastructure projects are within Canadian standards.
