The most trusted brands offer good value
The University of Victoria’s Gustavson School of Business has released the results of its 2018 survey of Canada’s most trusted brands, based on a survey of more than 6,000 Canadians. The top three were the Canadian Automobile Association, MEC and Costco Wholesale. Some notable climbers on the list: the CBC (up to the #6 spot from #16 last year), Home Depot (to #8 from #37) and Marriott Hotels (#9 from #31). Meanwhile Loblaw’s, a chief culprit in the bread price-fixing scandal revealed last year, tumbled to #204 from #41. If there is a theme to this year’s brand leaders, it’s that nothing is so trusted as good value for money. You can drill down to find out the rankings of brands in your own industry here.
