GOOD RUN Iplayco Corp. Ltd. TSX-V:IPC +21.7% (August) All play seems to be working out just fine for the Langley manufacturer of indoor and outdoor playgrounds. In August Iplayco announced its best quarter ever, notching $4.8 million in sales for the three months ending June 30—and $11.5 million for the first nine months of fiscal 2013. The previous month it had announced completion of the world’s largest indoor play area, at 25,000 square feet, in a Saudi Arabian shopping mall.BAD RUN Carmanah Technologies Corp. TSX:CMH -32% (August) The bad news just keeps on coming for alt-energy light maker Carmanah Technologies. In April its CEO and two board members were ousted by unhappy shareholders. In early August it was named in a U.S. patent infringement lawsuit and Canaccord Genuity downgraded its stock to “hold.” The company announced in August that it lost US$3.2 million on sales of US$13.3 million in the first six months of the year. •
