Vancouver Community College

VCC graduates are enjoying success in a variety of industries

With over 23,000 students enrolling annually, including a growing number of Aboriginal learners, Vancouver Community College is uniquely positioned to offer both access and applied career programming, as well as skills training. It offers certificates, diplomas and bachelor’s degrees in a variety of career disciplines including health; hospitality and applied business; music, dance, and design; transportation and other skilled trades. Approximately 93 per cent of graduates from VCC diploma, associate degree and certificate programs are employed upon graduation.

“Walk into any five-star hotel, award-winning kitchen, bakery, music studio, auto-shop or hospital in Vancouver and you’re sure to meet a talented and successful VCC grad,” says VCC President Kathy Kinloch. “VCC’s commitment to access, community, and advanced skills training ensures our students are well positioned to break new ground in their chosen fields after graduation.”

VCC is well-aligned with The BC Jobs Plan and Tourism B.C.’s Gaining the Edge, as the institution shares a commitment with Government to address the overall socio-economic and regional employment needs of B.C.

“Our direct connections to industry ensure that we’re meeting the needs of employers while our model of access and our partnerships across the post-secondary sector assist students to reach their goals at any stage of their educational journey,” says Kinloch.

VCC brings together people from many backgrounds and cultures and strives to create new opportunities, build community and offer enriched educational experiences. VCC’s strong ties to the Downtown and East Vancouver neighbourhoods are evident in its partnerships to deliver programs and services for newcomers to Canada and at-risk youth; while its direct connections to the Vancouver business community enhance the success of VCC programs, and the future success of its graduates.
