Vancouver home to Canada’s second-most-expensive office street

Surprise, surprise: Burrard Street is the country’s second-costliest boulevard for renting office space, a new report by professional services firm JLL Canada has found. Toronto’s Bay Street keeps the No. 1 spot for the seventh year in a row. Bay’s average gross rent clocks in at $70.14 a square foot for 2017, versus $61.52 on Burrard and $48.28 on third-place Des Canadiens-de-Montréal Avenue in, you guessed it, Montreal.

On Burrard Street, average rent has climbed 6.4 per cent since JLL’s last annual report, driven by the tech sector’s voracious appetite for downtown office space.
