What freelance workers can learn from romance writers

All net job growth in the U.S. from 2005 to 2015 was from “alternative work arrangements” (freelancing, contracting, temp work, etc.), up from 9.1 percent in 1995, and global communications marketer Edelman estimates that more than half of the American workforce will freelance by 2027. While freelancing offers freedom, it often pays poorly, but romance writers are increasingly able to support themselves. More than 15 percent earned at least $100,000 in 2014 compared to 6 percent in 2008.
