Event: Whistler Cornucopia: Top 25 Celebratory Reception
Venue: Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, Whistler BC
Date: Nov. 12, 2010

Cornucopia… ahh. Wine and food connoisseurs alike anxiously await Whistler’s premier wine and food extravaganza all year. Not only do festival attendees get to sample and savour some of the greatest tastes of BC, but they also get to meet, mix and mingle with acclaimed chefs, sommeliers, vintners and restaurateurs from near and far. From lush wine tasting galas to day-trips to the farm, Whistler’s Cornucopia is the epicurean’s dream.

The Top 25 Celebratory Reception showcased the best the festival had to offer. Labeled the “25 Best Wines of the Festival” by a panel of 10 esteemed industry experts, attendees of this event were given the opportunity to sip and savour the creme de la creme.

Merlots, pinots, champagnes, and sauvignons as far as the eye could see. My personal favourite? The Riesling Ice Wine, sweet as candy and dangerously addicting.

One thing I learned about Cornucopia, it is best to pace yourself and take small sips to savour the taste, otherwise a tipsy-state ensues. I learned this lesson the hard way.
