How technology could better help your health
The human genome sequence has helped a lot in terms of advancing medical processes. A firm called Oxford Nanopore has developed a portable reader that can read genetic sequence in minutes and will cost no more than US$500. The device could eventually be used to diagnose diseases in real time, reducing the need for doctors visits and prescribed antibiotics. It could also be used by Crime Scene Investigators to analyze DNA evidence.
