More than 2,500 guests attended the sold-out fashion show and grand opening of the new 230,000-square-foot Nordstrom flagship store at Pacific Centre. A red carpet was rolled out as VIPs, celebrities and fourth-generation Nordstrom family members did interviews and posed for paparazzi upon entering the cocktail reception at the VAG. Stars included supermodels Coco Rocha, Karolina Kurkova, Amber Valletta, Star Trek's Zachary Quinto and actress Camilla Belle.
The party continued in a transformed and tented Robson Square, which became a high-end-fashion runway as 38 models showcased 85 looks from top designers. Following the fashion show, the party moved across the street to Nordstrom Pacific Centre where models posed as mannequins, Sean Jones rocked the dance floor, DJ Leanne played upstairs, and food and drinks flowed freely. A gorgeous bistro overlooks Robson Square on the third floor while there is a permanent bar in the second-floor women's clothing section open year-round for weary shoppers.
Kathleen S. Bartels, Jillian Harris, Jill Krop, Judy Leung, Jason Sarai and Tamara Taggart were co-chairs for the gala which raised $420,000 for local charity organizations including BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, BC Women’s Hospital + Health Care Foundation, Covenant House Vancouver and the Vancouver Art Gallery.
