Opus announces its second B.C. location, opening in Richmond in 2017

Highly rated boutique hotel Opus, located in Vancouver’s swanky Yaletown neighbourhood, will be adding another B.C. location in the fall of 2017. The new property, named Opus Hotel Versante, will be located in Richmond—minutes away from the Vancouver International Airport and the Canada Line’s Bridgeport Station—and marks the arrival of the city’s first luxury boutique hotel.

Opus Hotel Corp. has entered into agreement with developer Mo Yeung International Enterprise Ltd. to build the 12-storey, 110-room hotel in Mo Yeung’s International Trade Centre development. The hotel will sit next to two office towers and 34,000 square feet of luxury retail space, including a traditional Chinese fine-dining restaurant located at street level.

“The Opus Hotel brand presents a vibrant and eclectic mix of people and place making the International Trade Centre development the ideal location for the next property,” said John de C. Evans, Opus Hotel Corp. founder and president, in a statement. “We are thrilled to be working with Michael Ching of Mo Yeung—the leader in merging innovative lifestyle brands with the bricks-and-mortar of development.”

Evans’s hotel management company, Trilogy Hotel Management Ltd., will operate and manage the new Opus property.
