Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation Passions Gala
Dr. Peter Centre
September 15, 2013

More than 250 guests attended the 10th annual Passions fundraiser at the Dr. Peter Centre. It was an unforgettable evening of classical music, wine and cocktails, and delicious hors d’oeuvres featuring 24 of Vancouver’s top restaurants and chefs. Passions committee chair and founder Nathan Fong and Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation executive director Maxine Davis hosted a special champagne reception that gave guests the opportunity to sip bubbly as they previewed the auction items and mingled with event hosts and Dr. Peter’s friends and family.

Global TV’s Sophie Lui and “Man About Town” Fred Lee emceed the gala, which raised more than $130,000 to benefit the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation. Since its inaugural event in 2003, the gala has raise more than $1 million for HIV treatment and support for people living with AIDS.

“The 10th annual Passions was the best one yet,” said Nathan Fong, Passions founder and committee chair. “It’s truly inspiring to see the whole community come together—chefs, restaurants, sponsors, volunteers and attendees—to support vital work of the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation. I am so impressed with the level of generosity shown by everyone who attended.” In recognition of Nathan Fong’s extraordinary contribution to the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation, the board of directors named him an honorary director of the foundation onstage at the event.
