Wine was flowing and bids were rising at the 2011 Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival’s Bacchanalia Gala Dinner and Auction. Held at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, the event raised $269,411 for the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company.

The Bacchanalia Gala is the premier annual fundraising event for the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company and the crown jewel of the week-long wine festival. Dapper gentlemen and chic ladies bid on a vast selection of the world’s finest wine, and dined on a specially prepared five-course meal from Fairmont head chef, Robert LeCrom.

According to the gala chair, Vicki Prince-Wright, “The Bacchanalia Gala is an opportunity for the community to come together, to demonstrate their support for good theatre, and to raise awareness of the value of the arts in creating a whole society … all while enjoying an amazing experience.”
