Canuck Place Children’s Hospice 9th Annual Gift of Time Gala

Donors, partners, sponsors and supporters of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice came together at the Westin Bayshore Hotel for the 9th annual Gift of Time Gala, presented by Telus. Attendees raised money to support the delivery of specialized pediatric palliative care for over 450 children and families facing life-threatening illnesses across B.C.

The gala, hosted by Global BC’s Chris Gailus, featured a cocktail reception, live and silent auctions, and a three-course meal at intimate tables of eight. Entertainment was provided by Michael Kaeshammer and Friends, and Canuck Place family remarks were made by Sadie Lourenco, whose sister Lindsey stayed at the hospice.

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers led the live auction with an Okanagan Black Hills Winery package going for $17,000. Telus vice-president of community relations Jill Schnarr put the highest bid of $100,000 on the Beyonce suite, donated by her organization, and donated it back to the live auction, where it raised another $90,000 from a generous bidder.
