Kooky mayoral candidates make a comeback in B.C.

Since Mr. Peanut ran for mayor of Vancouver in 1974, municipal candidates haven’t been particularly colourful. Until now.

In Terrace, Kitimat comediate Danny Nunes has taken to dressing up as the Kool-Aid Man to drum up interest in the election. Some northern B.C. mayors are running for re-election uncontested, CBC has found.

But in Victoria, despite multiple mayoral hopefuls, Victoria News reports that artist Ryan Moen has thrown his hat in the ring as a character called RyMo.
