Breaking: Unbounce CEO Felicia Bochicchio out, replaced by New York executive Steve Oriola

Bochicchio was with the Vancouver company for over five years

Vancouver landing page developer Unbounce has long been one of the city’s tech success stories since being founded in 2009 by Rick Perreault and five co-founders.

In recent years, Unbounce had emerged as a force for social good as well, winning this magazine’s Business of Good award for Thought Leadership in 2021.

But the company hasn’t been immune to the struggles faced by many in the province’s tech sector. In August of 2022, the company laid off 47 people, approximately 20 percent of its workforce. At the time, CEO Felicia Bochicchio (who replaced Perreault after the latter underwent cancer treatment) announced that the company had to “invest with greater discipline and focus” to survive the turbulent times in the sector.

In May of 2022, the company brought on three high-profile executives to help lead its marketing, product and engineering departments. According to LinkedIn, all three are no longer with the company.

As of this month, neither is Bochicchio, BCBusiness has learned.

Bochicchio’s own LinkedIn page shows that her time with Unbounce ended this month and that she’s founded an investment company called G56 Ventures. Her replacement is New York-based executive Steve Oriola, who has served as CEO for American tech companies like software development company Act! and SaaS platform Pipedrive.

Bochicchio did not respond to a request for comment.

When reached for comment, Unbounce did not issue a statement before press time.
