Facebook Chooses Coal Harbour for New Office

Facebook’s new office will be at 1555 West Pender.

Facebook confirmed to Techvibes that it has selected a new office space in Coal Harbour

In March, Facebook announced that it would open up an office in Vancouver and would be recruiting up to 150 staff, mostly software developers, for what it called a temporary office in Vancouver. According to Techvibes, Facebook pulled the trigger, signing a three year lease for the a location in Coal Harbour.

The ground floor office space, at 1555 West Pender, was formerly occupied by Kasian Architecture and offers just under 20,000 square feet of space.

The social media giant has ramped up its presence in Canada as it continues to acquire an ever growing share of advertising budgets, although this new office, slated to open later this month, will be primarily to recruit and train new developers.

Facebook opened an office in Toronto in 2009, which houses its advertising sales, account management and marketing teams for Canada, and it runs an official recruitment program at UBC and University of Waterloo.
