The music business is very central to Toronto, L.A., New York, Nashville and London. Vancouver is not really on the map, except for a couple of managers here. When we released our first three records, I went back east and started showing them around to all of these different players there.

I was told I would never succeed if I stayed in Vancouver, but that just made us more determined to stick to our vision. If I was going to give any advice to someone, it would be, understand that all perspectives are right, but follow your own intuition, not that of others.
