Vancouver International Wine Festival Bacchanalia Gala Dinner and Auction
Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
February 26, 2013
The 35th annual Bacchanalia Gala dinner and auction, presented by Goldcorp Inc., is a must-do event for any serious wine collector and is attended by more than 550 guests each year. The evening provided an unparalleled opportunity to enhance one's wine cellar through auctions of rare, valuable and unusual wines, donated by some of the world’s top winemakers and private collectors.
Guests enjoyed a sparkling wine reception, with nine wines paired with five courses created by the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver’s executive chef. Auction items included unique culinary experiences, excursions and extravaganzas featuring chefs and sommeliers from the West Coast’s top restaurants.
This year the wine festival will open 30,000 bottles, with over 1,850 wines from 15 countries and 175 wineries. The theme region is California and 25,000 participants are expected to attend.
