Vancouver International Wine Festival Bacchanalia Gala Dinner + Auction 2015
The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
February 20, 2015

More than 500 guests attended this sold-out event. Considered to be the centrepiece of the VIWF, Bacchanalia is a must for any serious wine collector with wines donated from some of the world’s top winemakers and private collectors.

Guests were welcomed at a sparkling champagne reception and had an opportunity to bid on silent auction items. After dinner there was a live auction and raffle draw followed by live music and dancing with the CBC’s Man about Town Fred Lee as the evening’s emcee. Festival sommelier Terry Threlfall paired nine wines with five courses created by the Fairmont Vancouver’s executive chef, Cameron Ballendine. Auctioneer Howard Blank handled the bidding for the live auction.

Total proceeds were $117,000. Net proceeds will benefit Bard on the Beach as Western Canada’s largest not-for-profit professional Shakespeare festival.
